Another new project file, this time 7 Patch blocks. Not my preferred colour, but providing I get the contrast right any colours will work.

Yesterday the designs were red and white applique, today they are green pieced.
The design above is my favourite today.
Today there are areas that quilting could be added, yesterday the quilting designs I would use are there.

Springtime colours, including a little bit of gold as crops ripen. Only thing missing are the spring flowers.
I like both of these designs … no favourite.

Mmmn! A nice break from red and white!
I love the second design, though it is a bit pointy! I do like the almost plain blocks instead of totally plain blocks.

Interesting!
I don’t think the distorted blocks would be easy to put together, but they certainly add interest to the design.
Also interesting, and more distorted blocks, but this time much easier to put together!
I love the quilting motifs in both designs.

I like the first design! Very interesting.
A bit different to the average pieced patchwork quilt. The blocks are 7 patch and set on point.

Interesting … at first glance all the star blocks are identical, but five of them are a bit different.
Same border stars, then a row of different stars, and the ones in the centre have more points again!

Not sure about the colours in the first design, but love the design itself. Perhaps it is the applique which makes it a winner for me.
Love the centre block in this one … it works much better on point than it does in a straight setting.

I started naming a series of blocks as Border Crossings … and South Australia has is linked to every mainland state, so rather than leave Tasmania out of the mix I thought that I could allow a sea crossing as a border … though it is not an obvious choice as Victoria is directly across Bass Straight, and the route from South Australia has to reach Bass Straight via the Southern Ocean.
I think the first design today is my favourite, but don’t quote me on that as I sometimes/often change my mind!

This is from a series of pieced 7P blocks which started as fairly simple crosses, then I modified each cross to get a series of blocks which work well together. In this case the modifications are still happening.
The first design I am sharing came after several false starts because I didn’t have any modifications, and I love it.
Like most projects I start this one is getting interesting.
Love the third one too!

Interesting grid.
Nothing like getting myself into a tangle … but I love the results in the second design, even if the first design was a bit dull by my standards.
